Because the uniform is just the beginning.

At Beyond the Jersey, we provide personalized recruiting guidance and lifelong mentorship for motivated student-athletes. With a focus on the whole person—athletic, academic, and social—we help families navigate the college recruiting process with clarity and purpose. Our goal isn’t just to secure a roster spot, but to find the right college home and set athletes up for success on the field, in the classroom, and in life.
I had dreams to continue my football career in college, but I didn’t have a clue where to start. Having Nate Flannery by my side to guide me through the recruiting process was nothing short of a blessing. When working with Nate it really opened my eyes to all of the different possibilities to continue my academic and athletic journey. Nate helped me get my information and film out to many different schools and coaches. Which allowed me the options to make such a big decision in the next step of my life. I learned so much about myself and the process when working with Nate. He was there to answer any questions, and had my back through it all! Having Nate in my corner throughout the recruiting process was an amazing experience, and it brought comfort knowing how much he cared about these next steps in my life! I’ve just wrapped up my fourth season of college football and will be getting my degree in the spring of 2026. I’m incredibly grateful for Nate and the support he’s given me from the very beginning of the recruiting process all the way to the final game of my football career!

I wouldn’t be where I am today without my dad. From the very beginning, he has been my loudest supporter and my most steady presence. He believed in me long before I fully believed in myself, and he never let me forget what I was capable of.
During the college sports recruiting process, when things felt overwhelming, confusing, or uncertain, my dad was right there guiding me, advocating for me, and reminding me to stay focused on both my goals and my values. He helped me see opportunities I might have missed and pushed me to keep going when the path wasn’t easy.
Beyond sports, my dad has been my mentor and my example of leadership. He taught me how to lead with integrity, work hard even when no one is watching, and show up for others with consistency and character. His advice has shaped the way I approach challenges, relationships, and responsibilities in every area of my life.
Most importantly, he has always cheered me on not just in my wins, but in my growth. His support has never been conditional on results, only on effort and heart. I am endlessly grateful for his guidance, his belief in me, and the countless sacrifices he’s made so I could chase my dreams. I carry his lessons with me every day, and I hope to lead and live in a way that makes him proud.

My dream was initially to play college baseball since I was 10 years old. It all changed after my last game of football, my Junior year. My father (Michael Flannery) played baseball at UW-Parkside and knew a little bit about the recruitment process, but we didn't know exactly what to do during that time, as it was completely different when he was growing up. Having Nate Flannery by my parents’ and my side throughout this process made me feel really blessed to have someone experienced with taking kids and helping them get to the next level.. He helped me get my film out to coaches all over the midwest from the Juco Level, NAIA, D1 FBS- D3. This led me to get in contact with many different schools and receive offers to make a big choice where I was going to continue my education while playing football at the highest level I could. When I decided to commit to Quincy University after I went on a visit with my Parents, the first person I called in the car after was Nate Flannery, as he made a great impact on me to go reach for the stars. I can't thank Nate enough for all the love and support he has shown me during the recruiting process.

The college recruiting journey is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming for athletes and their families. I’ve lived it myself as a two-sport college athlete, and I’ve guided student-athletes through their own paths in Division I, Division II, Division III, JUCO, and NAIA athletics. Each experience showed me that recruiting is about much more than a roster spot — it’s about finding the right home where student-athletes can thrive in every aspect of their lives.
